Bear Fight Club is a gym conveniently located in the heart of Chiang Mai's old city. During my stay in the area, this gym and Dang Muay Thai were the two most recommended options for those residing in the city. I decided to join the morning sessions at Bear Fight Club for about a week, and overall, my experience was positive. The classes started at 8:30 am and were usually small; around 4-6 other people. The training was Ok, typically you start off with a warmup such as running around the gym or footwork drills. Then the trainers would show some kind of technique for partner drills. We followed up with padwork, consisting of three rounds of five minutes each. Each trainer had a different style so it was good to rotate through. Afterwards on some days it was sparring. Overall a decent gym if you are staying in the city. I had a better experience here than Dang Muay Thai, which was often crowded and more like a kickboxing fitness class. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the smaller class sizes in the morning allowed for a more focused training experience. The afternoons looked a bit busier with more active fighters. Pros: Sonny and his team are good people Chill environment Small classes in the morning.
