Sityodtong gym has a rich history of producing champions and attracting high level foreigners to come train in the past. Now, it is more of a tourist friendly gym and is a good visit for anyone looking to train in Pattaya. It is located in the quiet outskirts of Pattaya, outside the craziness of the downtown / beach area. While I was there, the gym was mainly comprised of tourists and younger local Thai fighters. The training is pretty laidback. You show up, pay your fee, and are assigned to a trainer. Sityodtong's different in that the sessions are more individual than group centered. Kru Toy, the owner, and his son (Too) speak english well and are very helpful and knowledgeable. The mornings are often quiet with more activity in the afternoons. Usually, there were 3-4 trainers on site each session (afternoon). The trainer will let you warm up with tire jumps, jump rope, and/or shadowboxing. There is a also a park nearby if you want to jog beforehand. After the warmup is 4-5 rounds of padwork. The padwork is good and technical; the trainer doesn't just try to tire you out. The trainers will give you technique pointers throughout the round. The last round is usually just boxing, or boxing + lowkicks. After that, you may get some sparring/clinching in if you are similarly sized to the thai kids fighting there (< 60 kg). Otherwise, the trainer may direct you to a bag for some drills and then end the session with situps/pushups. There is also a small weight area in the adjacent building with dumbbells and a pullup bar. Overall, the training is OK. It's not much of a fighters gym, but the padwork is good and you may get some decent work in if you are smaller in size (there are younger thai fighters training there). Other then that, its a good place to visit if your in Pattaya want to get a session in. Pros -Good technical instruction -Nice large facility -Helpful and nice trainers Cons - Not much structure/direction to the training - If you are larger-bodied, you may not get much clinching/sparring
